Tuurd Foni in the stack

I have two turntables and two Schiit Mani phono stages. That means two line outputs and one path into the rest of the system (vintage, limited inputs), so I need a switcher.

The one I had worked, but it looked pretty rough stacked on the Manis.

My Modi 2 died. The DAC was toast, but the case was fine — same Schiit mini chassis as the Manis. So I emptied it and turned it into a two-input line switcher.

I drilled the case for the new jacks, stripped the silver finish with an abrasive strip wheel, and painted it — black lid, red chassis.

How it works

It is a passive A/B switch: two stereo inputs, one stereo output, one front toggle. Six RCA jacks on the back, DPDT switch on the front. Internals are hand-wired twisted pair with star grounding.

It sits on the Manis between the decks. Flip the toggle to pick which turntable is live.
